Yum

I love potato chips.  POOF…. I can make an entire bag disappear in a few minutes.  In order to make things a bit more healthy, I decided to make my very own DIY Baked Chili Ginger Potato Chips.  They skimp on the fat and the synthetic flavors of most commercial brands, but NOT on flavor! The perfect blend of spicy and tangy with tickle your taste buds. They take 20 minutes to make. CAUTION:  these can be extremely addicting!!!

Here’s what you need:

  • 3 medium potatoes ( I used yellow potatoes, but any kind is OK to use)
  • olive oil for coating the potatoes (about 1 teaspoon) and for greasing the cookie sheet
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Here’s what you do:

  1.  Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Carefully with a mandolin, slice the potatoes.
  3. In a bowl, coat the potato slices with the olive oil.
  4. And in all the spices and stir well.
  5. On a lightly oil cookie sheet, place the potatoes in a single layer.
  6. Bake for about 5 to 7 minutes. Watch the potatoes closely so they do not burn.
  7. Once they are golden brown, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool. They should get crispy as they cool..
  8. Enjoy eating your #diybakedchiligingerpotatochips!
