In the quest to remove as many synthetic chemicals from my life as possible, I like to make my own facial products. One of the easiest things I make (using only 3 ingredients) is this DIY Natural Facial Toner! Why would you use a toner, you ask? Toners are astringents that help cleanse the skin gently while also acting as an anti-inflammatory to help soothe skin and shrink pores. Toner will help the appearance of your skin to look smooth, flawless, and healthy! You could spend oodles of money on a store-bought toner laden with chemicals you can pronounce the names of, or you can make one in minutes and start having amazing looking skin immediately!

Here’s why the ingredients work:
Witch Hazel- Witch Hazel is a great astringent and an anti-inflammatory that helps to cleanse and restore skin to optimal health. It is extremely gentle to use.
Vegetable Glycerin- Vegetable Glycerin acts as a moisture barrier for the skin, locking it in, to prevent skin from drying out.
Lemon Young Living Essential Oil- Lemon oil acts as an astringent, soothing and nourishing skin.
******** I ONLY use Young Living Essential Oils. They are one of the highest quality, PURE, cold-pressed or steam distilled (meaning NO chemicals are used in their production like many store-bought ones), and SAFE. Young Living Essential Oils go through STRICT testing and monitoring procedures to insure their purity and content. They are a Start to Seed company which means that you can trace the lots of oils back to the very fields they were grown on, therefore their production process as well. Here’s what you need:
- 1 cup witch hazel
- 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin
- 5 drops Lemon Young Living Essential Oil (Click HERE to get them!)
Here’s what you do:
- Mix all ingredients together in a pump bottle or a spray bottle. Be sure to use a glass bottle because citrus oils will degrade the petrochemicals in plastic and that will taint the toner.
- Shake well.
- To use, either rub or spray a generous amount of toner on your face after it has been washed. Pat dry with a towel and allow the facial magic to begin!
