DIY Natural Shoe Deodorizers

shoe deodorizers

P-U!!!!……As many of you know, my husband Mike is a trail ultramarathoner.  After a hike or a run of his, Mike’s car can smell pretty darn rank- not to mention my house too when his shoes come inside.  He is ALWAYS running or hiking some mountain.   That means A LOT of miles run through mud, water, brush, and dirt. To combat this rather pungent problem, I made these simple DIY Shoe Deodorizers.  It took about 10 minutes to make 4 of these babies, and I am glad I did!  I used Blue Spruce and Purification Young Living Essential Oils for a scent to make the stink go away!  Thanks to these deodorizers, I can breathe in clean air in my home! Ahhhhhh….. (more…)

Meet Up Monday Link Up Party #82

1-meet-up-mondayHey all! Hope you had a good week! Hopefully you enjoyed some kind of break.  We had our spring recess and let me tell you… the time off was AWESOME!  Our break was shortened due to the overuse of snow days this year, so I couldn’t really travel anywhere. So really-  I enjoyed a staycation!   Sort of…   We did something fun each day, but also got a million house projects done.  The weather here in NY was beautiful so I spiffied up the outside and now I don’t have to do it later.  Woot Woot!  Now to party…

Link up your recipes, ideas, and projects so we can all check them out!    Join in with me and share and comment on the posts so share the love and to keep this party growing!  I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us this week!  As always, 3 AMAZING posts will be featured this week- as well as the post that was most clicked!  I can’t wait to see what you all have been up to! Quinoa Chia Power Breakfast Bowl

This Quinoa Chia Power Breakfast Bowl is the perfect way to start the day. It will power your day. It is simple to make and is delicious! There many different kinds of breakfast people in this world!  Some eat it, some don’t. Some are breakfast “pickers”, some are “sit down” breakfast people. Some people eat big breakfasts, and some like it light.

Hands-down, I’m a breakfast, non-picker, eater. I like a filling, warm, and substantial breakfast.  Normally each morning, I find myself enjoying a breakfast burrito consisting of egg, avocado, a small amount of cheddar cheese- wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. This is my go-to, mostly healthy, breakfast that I can grab and take on the go. This breakfast burrito keeps me full until lunch time. I like it. However….

In hopes to cut down on some carbs and to add a little variation into my mornings, I was inspired to make this Quinoa Chia Power Breakfast Bowl. At first I was skeptical of having quinoa in my morning meal as I use it mostly in many dinner recipes. Let me tell you though, quinoa has made its way to my breakfast menu and it is here to stay!  This Quinoa Chia Power Breakfast Bowl meets all of my breakfast criteria. It is warm, filling, and teeming to the brim with protein and goodness.  The flavor is full and creamy, yet light and vegan. The sweetness of the cranberries balances with the nuttiness of the pecans. The coconut flakes on top add the perfect flavor to seal the deal. This recipe is a must try… (more…)
